Switching planes in Madrid
It isn't easy getting to the Canary Islands. It's not the most popular vacation spot for Americans so you're stuck flying elsewhere first. I guess this makes sense, since theres much more interesting, vibrant islands to visit that significantly closer, making the Canary Islands a much more attractive destination for Europeans. This photo is from Tenerife Airport North.
Most of the beaches in the Canaries are one of the two surfaces: Stone or black volcanic sand. Neither are especially fun to walk on barefoot.
San Sebastian has some nice historical charm, mostly revolving around Christopher Columbus and his famous departure from this beach.
What are these photos about?
La Gomera
There was an abundance of dolphins who swam along side our boat, dozens at a time.
And the occasional hammerhead shark.
The most interesting thing I photographed in the Canary Islands was this abandoned fish cannery. I love seeing this stuff.
